User Actions

19min

User Actions allow you to perform management on a user without having to navigate and add exceptions via your group settings. A User Action is triggered directly in your main group.

There are two ways to trigger a User Action:

  • Reply to a user
  • Specify a user

Toggle User Actions

2

Navigate to User Actions settings: Chat Management > User Actions

3

Tap a specific type of user action to toggle whether they should be enabled or disabled

A tick (✓) designates that the user action is enabled for use.

Usage

Ban

You can ban a user from a group, this will turn on all restrictions and will automatically remove them from the group. The user will not be able to rejoin the group, unless they are unbanned first.

Unban

You can unban a user in a group, this will reset the users restrictions. The user won't be re-added to the group automatically but the user will be able to rejoin anytime they wish.

Further Warn Actions

In addition to warning a user, it's possible to reset and remove warnings as necessary. This is useful when a warning is added to the wrong user.

Each additional action works the same as adding a warning, meaning you can simply reply to a user or provide their Telegram username or ID within the command as a standalone message.

These further actions are enabled and disabled in tandem with the /warn command.

Remove Warning

Removing a warning reduces their current count by 1. The most recent warning will be removed.

/removewarn {@username or ID}

Reset Warnings

Resetting warnings reduces their current count to 0.

/resetwarns {@username or ID}

Current Warnings

It's possible to display the current warnings for a user to check if one has already been applied or to remind yourself the reasons why they were warned in the first place.

/warnings {@username or ID}

Custom Messages

For any user action (ban, unban, mute, unmute, kick, and warn) you can include a custom message alongside the action. This can be useful to explain why you are applying an action to a user.

A custom message can be included anywhere within your command but must be enclosed in speech marks (" "), however for commands with a duration; the specifed user must be defined before the duration is.

Examples:

/ban "You've been very naughty" @username

/ban @username "Why did you do that?" 1d

/mute @username 7d "Please be quiet"

/kick "that was a bit silly" @username

/unban "Fine, you can return"

User Prune

CrowdNinja by default, and if tier permits, will keep record of your user's last activity date.

Due to recent inclusion of the feature, it's not yet possible to trigger a prune.
